About
Known for her artistic output in both the visual and aural mediums, Mabel’s work is a foray into the interests and experiences of her being.
Her artistry adds her signature femme touch to psychedelia, venturing into sonic realms that blur the lines between psytrance, progressive house, breakbeat, and tech house. Following the culmination of her initial ‘chapter’ with the 2022 release of her debut ‘Archangel’ EP, Mabel took her producing to even further heights with a string of acclaimed productions – featuring the joyous evolution of her trademark components: syncopated rhythms, trippy vocal snips, and high energy, hypnotic stylings.
After her self-released ‘Stagediver’ EP at the end of 2022, Mabel’s subsequent ‘Hybrid’ EP found a new home with French producer RONI’s Nehza Records – a release that paid homage to a series of hybrid animals, conjuring impressions of forest and beachside raves. Representing arguably her most eagerly anticipated works, early 2024 sees Mabel’s ‘Pleasure Phonetix’ EP finding a home on Roza Terenzi’s Step Ball Chain – one of if not THE biggest source of inspiration in her career to this day.
As 2023 edged towards a close, Mabel’s latest ‘Teethbarer’ EP was revealed as what is sure to be the first of many releases on her own personal Doglandiya imprint - a project that is sure to become a key component of her artistic endeavours.
Pairing expertise as a DJ with an inventive, finely tuned approach in the production studio has cemented her as one of Naarm’s most sought after headline acts, meaning the city is never too far away from an opportunity to see her unleash her energetic sound on grateful ears. In 2023 alone, Mabel journeyed to all corners of Australia to further exhibit what is a deep understanding and control of her own sound.
Her distinctive style both as a performer and producer has garnered the support of music enthusiasts worldwide, which quickly accelerated her towards a jam-packed debut tour of Europe during the summer of 2023. This included 8 stellar shows across the continent in Berlin (Renate & Fitzroy), London (Corsica Studios), Madrid & Lyon to name just a few – the last of which included a memorable 5-hour b3b with fellow ‘Naarmian’ collaborators suki & Hannah D.
An artist beset with a desire for continual progression, 2024 beckons for Mabel with what is sure to be a busy but thoroughly expansive year of sharing her infectious sound with both Australia and those around the world.
